On 4th December 2024, Saifee Hospital Tanzania and the Tanzania National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR) officially entered into a historic partnership with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The ceremony, held at NIMR headquarters, marked the beginning of a journey aimed at advancing healthcare through research and innovation. .
The MoU was signed by Prof. Said Aboud, Director General of NIMR, and Dr. Hussein Hassanali, Director of Saifee Hospital. Prof. Aboud emphasized the critical role of public-private partnerships in addressing Tanzania’s pressing health challenges, informing policy, and enhancing healthcare delivery through research innovations.
Dr. Hassanali expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting the transformative innovations that this partnership will bring, contributing significantly to the advancement of healthcare in Tanzania and beyond.
The event was also attended by Dr. Nyanda E. Ntinginya, NIMR’s Director of Research, alongside his dedicated team. Representing Saifee Hospital was the Research Lead, Dr. Nuru Juma Penza, whose efforts have been instrumental in establishing this collaboration.
